In this class George Mathew will explain how to use data blending and predictive modeling to improve health care consumer satisfaction. In this class Fred Trotter will provide a baseline explanation of what big data is in the context of the health care system, as well as a basic framework for modeling health care effectively. Specifically, he will demonstrate how to model the health care system using a graph, and will explain how to use a graph to elucidate patterns, to examine interoperability, and to analyze and predict operational trends in the coordination of care both across groups and within ACO�s. Fred Trotter is a recognized expert in Free and Open Source medical software and security systems. He co-authored the first Health IT O’Reilly book “Hacking Healthcare.” He is also the founder of Not Only Development, which focuses on developing game-changing health care software. In recognition of his role within the health IT community, Fred was the Open Source representative invited by the National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics to testify on the definition of ‘meaningful use’. He also represented the Open Source EHR community in negotiations with CCHIT, the leading EHR certification body. Fred has spoken on this topic in a variety of publications including WIRED, Government Health IT, Linux Journal, and NPR.
George K. Mathew is president and Chief Operating Officer of Alteryx where he oversees marketing, products, and strategy for the company. Most recently, George was the group vice-president & general manager for Business Intelligence (BI) at SAP BusinessObjects, the fastest growing business in SAP's diverse portfolio. During his leadership tenure at SAP, George led the Business Objects Explorer team, introducing pervasive, in-memory analytics to the market. Prior to this achievement and through SAP's acquisition of Business Objects, he managed SAP's portfolio strategy in the Office of the CEO. Prior to SAP, George was an early member of salesforce.com where he focused on technical account management, M&A, and field services. George holds a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology from Cornell University and a Masters in Business Administration from Duke University.
