This will be a 15-30 minute class on Qi Gong Balancing. Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese healthcare practice that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques, and focused intention. Qi is the life force energy, the breath of spirit. Scientific studies have shown that regular Qi Gong reduces stress, decreases join pain, improves heart health, strengthens the immune system, improves balance and increases energy, inner peace and strength. This 20 minute class will take you through 8 postures which have numerous benefits for your mind, body and spirit. My earliest and fondest childhood memories center on my relationship with animals, particularly horses. In 2004, I transitioned from a corporate career into a profession that would enable me to re-connect more closely with these powerfully sentient and wise beings. Establishing Michigan Equine Therapy enabled me to work daily with the animals I love, providing therapeutic massage and energy healing techniques to improve the quality of horses' lives. Complementary care; such as bodywork and Reiki, offers tremendous opportunity for healing and growth for animals just as it does for humans. My experiences working with horses proved to me that we have much to learn from the animals. This led me into the field of Equine Facilitated Experiential Learning. Helping humans improve their lives through an authentic connection with the horses has become my life's work. I now work as a practitioner, teacher and facilitator. I am a passionate advocate for the healing power of the horse, and the possibilities this represents for all of us on an individual, societal and species level. I am thrilled to be working with and for the animals, and teaching others how to do the same. Medicine Pony is an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life on the planet by helping people become more authentic versions of themselves. We believe re-connecting with nature and our fellow species is the first step in fully understanding our true nature and regaining clarity around our identity and purpose. Lisa is a Fort Collins, Colorado-based certified vegan chef, author of two cookbooks, two lifestyle workbooks, a speaker and beekeeper. Lisa has been writing since the age of 12 and studying the art of cooking for over 30 years. She attended pasta-making classes in Italy and recently completed her vegan chef certification through the Vegan Gastronomy Culinary Academy. She also completed the Forks Over Knives plant-based cooking course, and enjoys researching the science of cooking and presentation for the home cook. She admits she is still learning! Weaving musings about beekeeping, Lisa presents workshops, breakouts, and keynotes about a healthy lifestyle, self-care, and simple living at conferences and retreats for healthcare, senior, and women's groups. Her greatest joy now is when a friend or student emails her that they made their first full plant-based meal! How cool is that? For those who need a bit more on the corporate side, Lisa has over 40 years of experience in healthcare (OMG that's a lot!) including acute care and healthcare prevention, Human Resources, and Performance Improvement. She holds a Master's Degree in Organizational Management and is a Certified Master Coach.
